Tasting at the brewery.
Pours a mahogoneyyvcolor with medium tan hrad.
Smells strongly of bourbon.
Very sweet and syrupy.
Like a liquid candy bar.
But very nice!

Pours a ruddy and purple-tinted dark brown with a thin khaki head that quickly settles into a thick crown.
Plums, figs, dates, vanilla, a little toffee and a little leather in the nose.
The fruity notes, presumably mostly from the cognac, dominate the taste as well. The leathery quality is stronger here though, tempering the fruitiness somewhat.
Thick, syrupy mouthfeel with restrained carbonation.
I love the barrel character here, but the base doesn’t quite match up. It’s neither complementary nor a well-balanced contrast.
