16 ounce can with no discernible date, though we received it fresh earlier in November, 2023.
Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 3/4 inch head over a near black body with a bit of lacing.
Nose of dark roasted malt, pumpernickel, and slight chocolate.
Taste of bitter chocolate, dark roasted malt, and finishing nicely bitter.
Good mouthfeel with near medium carbonation.
Overall, an enjoyable dark lager which shouldn't be missed if you're into the style,
Cheers!!!

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like pumpernickel, nutty malt, piney and grassy hops, and chocolate.
This is really solid, with a firm and present hop character, and lots of chocolatey and roasty malt character, wih a full and bready feel to it. This is obviously more hop forward than a typical dark lager, but it works very well for me.
This is light bodied, but still pretty full and creamy for the style.
I have been fairly well into River Roost from the very first beer that I tried from them at Blackback Pub a few years ago. They are still one of my favorite Vermont breweries.
