Picked up this bottle at the brewery in August during a trip to New Hampshire.
Pouring at cellar temp into my snifter.
the beer pours a dark cola brown color with dense creamy tan head of 1 cm that fades to a sturdy edge layer soon after the pour. There is a bit of a thin surface film that remains as well. I get tight dense lattice when I swirl the glass or take a sip.
Aroma is dark malts with brown sugar and dark chocolate and some bourbon. I swear I am getting faint cinnamon on the nose as well. Label doesnt talk about any added spice. No hint of ABV nor any hops.
First sip reveals a medium body with very fine, mild spacious carbonation. Texture is smooth and the beer drinks very easy.
Flavor is similar to the nose in terms of malt dominance.. I get dark chocolate, brown sugar, some sweet coffee, and a general dark fruitiness. No cinnamon here. I dont get any booze and wonder what the ABV is on this brew. No hop presence either. A nice, easy drinking big beer from River Roost.

Dark brown appearance with a very light fizzy brown collar of head. Definate bourbon, with some chocolate, molasses, and sweet malt notes in the background. Medium to thin body and mouthfeel.
