I've long been a fan of River Roost going back to 2019 when I picked up fresh cans of RR from the brewery to share with members of the legendary Progressive Rock/Fusion group, Brand X: they loved it. "Very citrusy" said Bassist extraordinaire Percy Jones. This Double Mas IIPA checks all the right boxes for me in the way of aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel. My only gripe, and it's not with this beer (which is delicious, and inviting), is that there is that they provide no canning dates, which is essential to an IPA enthusiast in search of fresh hops.

Excellent all around. Very smooth. Candied taste and smell. River Roost always delivers.

Poured into a 13 oz Teku glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a very attractive hazy yellow orange, with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves thick streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.5
Aroma is peach, tangerine, mango, passionfruit, and apricot. 4.5
Taste follows peach, tangerine, mango, passionfruit, and apricot. 4.5
Mouthfeel is bigger than average for sure, soft gentle carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 8% rather big flavor, but easy going down. 4.5
Overall this is really tasty stuff. I would highly recommend. 4.5

My can may have been past the best by date. No date on the can, but the sediment at the bottom was significant and clingy.
That said, poured a nice butterscotch color, 1 finger head.
For a nose I detected sweet tropical fruit, akin to mango. A bit of pine.
Taste had a nice bitterness plus sweetness, a touch tart and lime.
Nice mouth feel.
I'd love this paired with a BBQ pork chop.

Overwhelmingly smell of candy and mango and artificial fruit. However the thickness of the beer hits first even more then the taste. I get mango on the tongue and like the density of the beer. River roost makes good beer
