750ml bottle, dated 11.23.2022, poured into a stemless wine glass. Enjoyed on 10.01.2023, reviewed from Tasting Journal.
The beer pours a bright golden color, straw and honey hues, a foamy white head appears but offers no lacing. The aroma is good, lots of earthy funk, green candied hop, piney, herbal, oaky with soft biscuit malt and mineral water. The flavors are good, tangy candied hop, earthy, green, very floral with nice pine, grass clippings, dank weed, herbal tea, lemon and grapefruit citrus, oak and dough. The mouthfeel is good, coating, tart, medium body, very lively with a dry and tangy finish.
Verdict: A nice oak and funky IPA. Citrus and pine are the most prominent flavors but the funk draws out nice layers of flavor and the oak foudre really helps add complexity and depth.
