Working my way through a few random bottles picked up in Budapest. A year ago I couldn't find any local IPAs, now there seem to be a lot of them to choose from. This one is a bit disappointing though not awful. The smell is not the fresh citrus or pine hops one might expect, and the taste is reflects the same. It is clearly an IPA, but in the nose and up front on the palate it's got a little of the cat piss beer going on. But despite that, it settles into a pretty good bitter hops flavor. It's not a boring generic IPA, so for that I give out at least 3.5, but it does come up short of the standard in the style. I would drink it again, but not if there was something better available. interesting enough to be worth a try though if you see it.
