Kveik yeast, awesome to learn about this stuff and see it making its way into some DDH pale ales.
A- A deep golden pour from the tallboy into a tasting chalice with a very slight haziness. The head is foamy with a moderate thickness and decent retention. A few thin sheets of lacing.
S- Tropical fruits from both the hops and the yeast used here. Kind of a mix of juicy and ripe fruit flesh with a suggestion of tartness. Mango, tangerine, pear juice, orange, stone fruits and pineapple for the most part.
T- Fruity and hoppy following up on the aroma with a definite juicy flavor profile without the over the top sweetness that some recent hoppier brews have. The yeast here cuts into that sweetness nicely giving it a drier profile with a whisper of tartness and some nice spicy and fruity yeast flavors. Tropical with mango, orange, dank herbs, vinous grapes, tangerine, pear, pineapple and lime. Just fresh and fruity with plenty of hop and yeast flavor.
MF- Puffy and fluffy medium bodied brew with a dry overall feel on the taste buds. The carbonation is on the high side but overall the beer is soft on the palate. Clean bitter ending.
Not a flavor bomb compared to the most recent hoppy beers but the flavors here are just so interesting with bold profiles from both the hops and the yeast, working to accentuate each other. Tropical and citrus flavors with some extra Kviek oomph.
