Slightly cloudy in color. Nice white lacing. Nose is citrus, maybe a bit of of multi citrus flavors. Good beer. Just needs more bite of bitterness in my opinion.

Bought this because its label art describes my ideal day (in the remote wilderness), and was excited to try a NEIPA from these folks. I've enjoyed everything from this brewer so far, including this one. Decent effort in a very crowded market.

Another tough pour to get the contents of a pint can into a clear glass Imperial pint mug. What makes it so is an overabundance of carbonation and a big white foamy head. That head is one of the most unattractive you'll see on a beer. Starchy white foam that recedes relatively quickly, but terribly uneven and with very irregular glass lacing. The eyes tell to not expect much barley malt in the taste nor mouthfeel. There's a nice hoppiness to the aroma, with the closest reference being tropical fruit. But, it's muted by a buffering grain, probably oats. The beer itself is a dull and opaque apricot-amber. It tastes pretty close to its aroma. The hopping comes across very softly, which is a bit of a feat considering there's some Simcoe hops within. The tongue agrees that the closest taste reference would be mango, but it's not that sweet. Even if you like the New England style IPA, there is a point it just gets too soft. That is what this is. The body is adequate, certainly not memorable and there's no hop bite at all, not even during the finish. That may please some drinkers, but why, then, are they drinking an American IPA? Part of the truly attractive features of a good IPA is the counterbalance between a malty sweetness and a hoppy bite. This has neither. It's drinkable enough, but it's boring.

Pours a very cloudy gold with orange hues, long lasting fluffy head and lacing. Smell is sweet citrusy, notes of orange and lemon. Taste is a little lighter than the smell, but zestiest, a bit of tanginess. Mango, light lemon, bit of pineapple. I see a lot of reviews mention papaya. I have no idea what papaya tastes like, but there’s something in the taste I can’t quite identify, so maybe it’s that. Lighter to medium bodied, slightly mouth watering finish, creamy feel. Not bad, not great, but an enjoyable example of the style.

Poured into a 13 oz Teku glass canned on 5/7/20. Pours a hazy orange with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves a bunch of sticky rings of lace with excellent retention. 4.5
Smell is ripe melon, mango, peach, papaya, and apricot. 4
Taste follows cantaloupe, mango, peach, papaya, and apricot low in bitterness and really tasty. 4
Mouthfeel is about medium, soft gentle carbonation, a tad sticky but not dry, and at 6.5% it drinks a little bigger but still easy drinking. 4.25
Overall this is a really nice beer, not a wow beer but I will have no issues crushing this 4 pack and will purchase again next time I see it. 4

Super hazy with a 2 finger, pillowy head
Smell is pineapple. Flavor is un-acidic pineapple, peach and mango. There is almost no burn. It’s light on the tongue and so smooth. Overall, this is a easy drinker. No aggression

Oh shit, another new Mast Landing IPA! And a hazy one, at that! Whoa shit, alert the presses! Alright, I don't mean to be snarky, but it's getting to be like Finback levels of market saturation with this kinda thing. I haven't seen a lot of Relic recently, so maybe ML can take their spot for "most inconsistent yet at times rewarding blind-buy of single NEIPA cans" throne from them? That's not really something I keep track of, but if it were, you can bet ML would be in the running. Finback would be there, too, for sure.
The pour here is a consistently hazy deep orange color with a superb head of constant bone-white foam building up atop the beer's body. Good legs and very solid lace, so I'm quite down with how this one has ended up in my glass. Even has awesome surface coverage if you're into that sorta thing.
The nose here consists of a big helping of coniferous trees with some nice candied grapefruit and berry notes underneath. The combination of Simcoe, Citra, and Rakau is, I believe, a new one to me. Rakau is more of an unusual hop than the other two, as it tends to display stone fruit characteristics. I suppose if I look for it, there is some light plum here, if I'm being honest, along with a touch of apricot and/or nectarine. The funky pine/grapefruit of Simcoe crossed with the ludicrously intense grapefruit and tangelo of Citra really lends a nice, notable counterpoint to what Rakau does here, and the malt bill seems to mostly stay out of the way, which is appropriate in this recipe. I very much enjoy what's happening here, honestly. It reminds me of a smaller version of Pantless Thunder Goose.
The flavor profile is well-done, too, with forward flavors of apricot and nectarine combined with light melon, grapefruit rind, and pine resin. Backing notes of overripe mango and fleshy papaya cross with a touch of aggressive rind-forward citrus and more intense herbal notes as each sip coalesces into a well-defined ending. This is honestly very successful; I enjoy Out Here more than most of MLBC's recent IPA output. The feel is lithe and enjoyable while still retaining a meaningful complexity, and the whole thing just hits me as a superior NEIPA; one that uses its intense haze to its advantage by balancing that element with an aggressive, unusual hop combo. The result is a very nice IPA I would love to have a four-pack of any time.
