Winter's solemn chill is thawing out in the Northeast, yet we find ourselves confined mostly to our homes. As the days get longer and the warmth feels more and more welcoming, we're dreaming of brightness, and of open air. What better way to capture the power of big, warm Western skies than with a 100% Citra-hopped double IPA. Arizona Sun captures the shimmering joy of a beautiful day through two rounds of dry hopping; a solar burst of citrus notes with a balanced, hazy body to refresh your restless palate.

Can. Pours super-duper opaque. This is orange half-and-half. One oft the most turbid beers I have seen in ages. Thin crown of foam for a head. Pureed tropical fruit smoothie nose. Citra bomb. Aromatic intensity is good but not exceptional. The actual smell is great though. The flavor is quite strong but like the nose, it needs 1-2 more notches dialed up in the intensity department. Creamier feel but not too sweet or sticky; surprisingly. It's got all the fixings to be a fantastic New England IPA but the flavor and nose are a tiny bit too muted. Overall, a strong offering though.

Outstanding? Well, let me take this down a small peg. Very dank/chewy. Too much for me. I put some KCBD iceberg zombie sour in mine to ignite wellness. I'm more in the 6-7% range when it comes to ipas so some hardcores might disagree since this is 8 and deserves to be viewed differently. But thats what the top rope is for. Macho Man elbow to your mom. PS Love mast landing beer, always buy, "Oceans" in my current glass.

Canned on 3/14/22 opened and reviewed on 4/9/22
100% all Citra hop
Looks: Deep hazy straw gold and orange hues. Sea foam density from the clumpy and creamy head. Tons of lace
Smells: Earthy citrus and malty whipped cream. Husky, dry herbs with Sweet tropical juice blend. Bold nose.
Taste's: Lush Citra hops bring forth some dirty earthy and very sweet hop flavor's. Dry, leafy earth notes with an orange and cream wave of super, silky, super smooth light malted grains and maybe a sunbeam on your tongue.
Feels: Incredibly smooth, full, smooth, silky and somehow still, dry and fresh. Wonderful.
High grade hop juice beyond the sun

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Luke's in Plymouth for about eighteen dollars. My sixth brew reviewed from these guys. Decent brew, kind of an odd taste, not worth the price point.

Today feels like I'm sitting in the Arizona sun, so not normally a day for a DIPA but why not, canned 7/6/20
Pours a huge frothy rich creamy 2 finger head with med retention, soapy lacing, hazy cloudy orange color
Nose brings citrus, a little musty dank fruit, some mango, pithy notes, orange cream, sweet valencia orange, light doughy malt, touch of smooth alcohol
Taste brings sweet orange cream, more valencia orange notes, with orange creamscicle, little orange zest, some mango and papaya, light bitterness, into creamy malt, doughy, pillowy, with a little smooth alcohol, flaked proteins and water softening, drier finish a little sweet sticky, light alcohol
Mouth is med to fuller bod, super pillowy creamy fluffy, juicy, etc, without the extra chalky minerals so great job there
Overall this was quite well done, another big winner for Mast Landing, great soft juicy citrus, nice hops, great water additions and suspended proteins without over minerals that get chalky and weird, or green hop bite, alcohol hidden well, so even for a really hot summer day it's easy drinking

A- Tallboy into a pint glass with a very milky, hazy yellow-gold body and a head that ascends up to one finger. The texture is thick and creamy and the head has great retention before falling to a medium belt around the edges. Large webs of lacing stick to the glass.
S- Juicy hops in the aroma bring on tropical/stone fruits strong with dank, herbal, floral and soft citrus notes as well. Melon, mango, peach, bubble gum, slight berry and a good dose of oats/whole grains.
T- Moderately sweet and the general profile of the fruits carries over well from the aroma with melon, mango, bubble gum and papaya up front. You can sense the some whole grains and pale malts but the hops run the show. Floral, dank weed, onion, floral, orange and berry hints.
MF- Extremely soft and creamy. This beer just feels great on the palate as there must be plenty of residual long chain sugars from the grains. Medium level of carbonation and a bittersweet finish. Creamy.
No burn, a large amount of sweet tropical/stone fruit nectar with plenty of other hop flavors to support. Pretty much always pick up the new Mast Landing brews that find their way to MA.
