On the can: "with pecans and cocoa"
Small beige head which recedes completely--no bubbles and therefore, no lacing whatsoever. The liquid is nearly black but some light does pass through the edge faintly.
Plenty of cocoa to the nose with a bit of chalk. Lightly sweet.
Semisweet chocolate start. The body, despite the sweetness, is relatively thin. The carbonation is muted. The beer is mildly nutty, but I'd be hard pressed to identify pecan. The story of this beer comes in the swallow. The alcohol is powerful and there's a presence of blackberry as well. The aftertaste is short but satisfying.
