Sampling a cellar temp can picked up at the brewery in October, about 4 weeks ago. Pouring into my .5L dimple mug.
the beer pours a murky golden color with minimal, fizzy bleached white head foaming up and fading to the thinnest of edge layers pretty quickly after I empty the can. Doesnt look much the part of a kolsch with the murkiness.
The aroma is a bit of cereal grainy malt and a bif whiff of grapefruit citrus. Fruity but not sweet and not really pithy or bitter either, really smells like the pulp of a grapefruit.
First sip reveals a light body with fine tingly carbonation. Texture is pretty thin and watery to be honest.
Flavor is a bit of grain and then some grapefruit citrus, again not bitter more like pulp notes and then this lingers just a bit with faint acidity notes. Never any hint of hops nor the low ABV.
Im glad to have tried this as Ive gotten pretty fond of kolsch over the past year, but this looks and feels like a miss for me. Wouldnt buy this one again.
