Copenhagen 1/9 2017. 33 cl bottle from Den Gamle Købmand, Skt. Annæ Plads, Kbh. K. Little chubby bottle. Very detailed drawing in Horror Vacui style including weird faces, a Viking ship and other items.
Pours red hazy amber with lightly off-white head. Settles as thin creamy layer of foam.
Aroma is pretty malty for this kind of beer. Dominated by caramel, nuts and brown sugar. Lighter sour citric notes in the background.
Soft carbonation and slightly thick texture.
Flavor has strong nutty sweetness followed by medium to strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and finish is semi-dry.
A quite good Brown Ale of the bitter variety. Not much in common with an IPA.
