Gem clear with bright copper highlights and ample carbonation in random swarms. One inch of fluffy white head slowly settles to a creamy half inch cap after leaving scattered archipelagoes of lace the whole way down a Strangebird IIPA glass.
Caramel malt is joined by strong pine straw. Nuances of cedar, toffee, and grapefruit pith round out the aroma.
Mild bitterness is balanced by sweetness. Hops and malt are also in harmony. The caramel and cedar are fairly simple in the flavor, as this one showcases the brewer's skill. The finish is mild and lingering, beckoning one to another sip.
A medium to full body and coarse woolen texture. Alcohol is as expected, as is the fine carbonation that bristles on the palate. It has a faint astringency.
This is easily consumed in big gulps while relaxing on a mild autumn afternoon. One could easily enjoy several while watching football and eating snacks. It would fare equally well during casual conversation.
