a mellow drinking rye beer without a ton of earthiness, spiciness, or harshness from the rye, a pretty conservative recipe in that regard i reckon, and not an overly well refined brew, some haziness to it and a longer finish than i want a beer this light to have, but clean enough on the fermentation side and with more going on than in the generic blonde or golden ale this seems to be covering for on their been menu here, i cant complain. its simple on the grain side so even the modest amount of rye can be appreciated in the aroma and flavor, softly nutty and very lightly toasty to me, maybe a little wheat in here too, as this has a light but fluffy texture to it. the hop profile is mellow but obviously citrusy and modern, orange peel character to it, very light bitterness but enough to give it a little pop at the finish. decent carbonation but this isnt quite refreshing. overall a fine beer, a drinker, but i like a higher degree of refinement in a light beer like this, or else i want a little more oomph from the rye, this is just sort of middling for me, but was nice as a hangover beer...
