Not sure if this is the original, but it states it is brewed with Barrel Aged Chocolate malt and cocoa nibs.
The chocolate is noticeable and the espresso (not a listed additive) is present as a hard edge. Not quite bitter, but brash coffee. Definitely takes it out of pastry stout territory.
The feel is lighter than expected but still within parameters of the style.
OA, I hoped for a softer stout but can’t say I didn’t enjoy it.

Couldn't find the vanilla variant on here so will post on this page.
Vanilla Deluxe from Hopewell delivers on the vanilla and chocolate. The two flavors are very distinguishable in the same beer and finish with a dark roast. Dark chocolate begins to surface and stays present throughout. Very good beer that deserves better reviews.

Jet black, ample mocha foam, spotty lace, lasting skim.
Earthy dark roast coffee, slight bell pepper note though.
Rich and roasty, dark chocolate and big roastiness.
Slight bell pepper again, though it doesn’t linger too long.
Medium bodied with a smooth creamy texture.
Overall it’s good, though the bell pepper holds it back a little.
