This is a "Holiday Sour" brewed with spices, black currants, and plums - modeled off of a mulled wine.

Pours a dark reddish tinged brown color. Not cloudy at all, but somewhat opaque due to the deep color. Thin tan foamy head dissipates pretty quickly leaving no residual head. Aroma has notes of mulling spices, nutmeg, peppercorn, and dark fruits, with a slight tartness presenting on the nose. Some grainy malts peep through underneath all of that.

Taste follows the nose with notes of dark fruits - plums, prunes, currants - with a slight tartness. Mulling spices - nutmeg, spicy pepper, peppercorn and allspice come through. Its actually got a bit of spicy heat to it - its interesting. Very moderate tartness, but its there. There is some graininess coming through as well. Feel is light to medium bodied. Mild carbonation. The tartness is not enough to produce any kind of puckering sensation. A rather abrupt finish.

Overall this is a really nice beer - I am surprised at just how much I am enjoying it. Its relatively spicy for what it is, but it works really well with everything.
