Lightbeam is a Hazy IPA that radiates the full spectrum of modern hop eccentricities. An initial burst swells with the essence of ripe mango, papaya and apricot, while reverberant threads of green grass and prickly pine tether its final form. Here's to a bright spot.

16oz undated can poured into a pint glass shows a hazy, yellow-orange body and almost floats a 1/4in head of fluffy white bubbles leaving a filmy glass behind.
Aromas of pine and tropical fruits meld seamlessly and encourage a confident quaff. The flavor matches however a chalky taste I attribute to lactose is off-putting. The can does not mention lactose, but it also doesn't mention water, and I assume both are in here. A late, bitter bite finishes it off and helps to restrain the fruity sweetness.
Mouthfeel is soft and full with a wet finish.
Overall a pleasant version of a style I don't fully appreciate.

16oz can, dated 05.09.2022, poured into a 16oz tumbler glass.
The beer pours a hazy orange color, golden and straw hues with a solid finger of white head, tight bubbles, with good retention and excellent lacing. The aroma is pleasant, nice dank hop character, oily, resinous, lots of pine, green grass, earthy citrus rind, valencia orange, mango and berry with a nice biscuit malt base. The flavors are good, really echo the noise nicely, tons of juicy hops, bright tropical flavors with a great dank bitterness. Orange, mango, and berries brings out tangy grapefruit juice and earthy peel, lots of grassiness, weedy, piney with some sweeter malt that lingers nicely. The mouthfeel is good, coating and lively, medium body that finishes easily with a very dry bite.
Verdict: A nice hazy IPA from Hopewell. Straightforward and predictable flavors for the style, but well presented and balanced very nicely. Definitely hitting the middle of the fairway for the style, easy and approachable.

Nothing wrong, nothing compelling. There’s an almost bitter, sorta chalky aspect on the finish that pulls it down for me.

ONE PINT can
Served in a stemless wine glass
This beer pours dark shade of yellow and is turbid. It is topped with a couple inches of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.
The aroma is citrus with light tropical and melon smells.
I get citrus and a medicinal flavor. Then I pick up some melon. Grapefruit and pine in the finish.
Medium bodied with a slightly chalky mouthfeel
It's nice to have some bitterness in a hazy IPA. I like this better than the sweet hazies.
