Brewed in collaboration with Binny's Liquor Depot.
Many pilsners produced in Northern Germany are famously hop forward, so given Spalt, Tettnang, and Hallertau Mittelfruh are all from Germany, it seemed like the obvious stylistic choice for a celebration of classic hop character. To support this generous helping of hops, Noble Device was built with Barke pilsner malt, an heirloom German variety from Weyermann Specialty Malting of Bamberg Germany. This world-renowned maltster has been in operation since the 19th century and their malting of this nearly forgotten summer barley provides a solid malt structure for this invigorating pilsner bier.

Murky yellow body, white head, dotted lacing. Dank, onion, and herbal and grassy hops dominate this in the smell and taste. Dank and pale, bitter with rustic breadiness for the feel. Ok but not very balanced, though northern German pils do lean hoppy this feels even more so

Canned 6/18/24; drank 12/9/24 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice bright white head; frothy lacing remained.
Lemon & mild pine notes in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel. Lemon & pine flavors.
Simple, bright, effective. I'd have another.

16 oz cans mfgr 6/19/24 into a pokal.
L: SRM 3.5 pours radiant straw light electric yellow with a soapy white head, very good steady carbonation, very little lacing.
S: Bready Pils malts, lemon grass, apple, honey.
T: Bready malts, gentle confection sugar, a touch of lemon grass, a lightly perfume-like hop note, white grape, distant yeast, apple, honey, it's a bit pale, a hint of lemon zest. Subtly tart and bready throughout.
F: Crisp, lightly juicy medium-light bodied feel with a medium-length gently drying finish.
O: Just lovely. Excellent taste & feel, beautiful looking and easy drinking. Hits all the style marks dead on and the use of the 4 original Noble hops is top notch. This beer is excellent in its style.
