Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop cooler 11-7-18 for $1.99. No canning date but i believe it was brewed in early September. Consumed 2-14-19.

Beer poured orange with a nice white head with the initial pour.

Nose is orange and grapefruit forward with a hint of mango in the back.

Taste is grapefruit forward with some orange and pine. Finished with a pretty heavy pine-rind bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and pretty smooth.

Overall a solid WCIPA, definitely old school. Enjoyable if you are looking for bitterness!

Pours with a deep amber color, and looks an unfiltered classic West Coast IPA. A relatively non-aggressive pour generates a finger and a quarter of a sudsy white head. The head retention is better than on the single IPA, as is the lacing on the glass. The smell is very grapefruity, resinous, malty(?), and unapologetically old school. Taste follows the nose. This baby is bitter, really fucking bitter, and I am enjoying this fact very much. The hops are balanced by a prominent malt backbone. In terms of feel, this one has a medium to full body, it’s averagely carbonated, and it hides the alcohol pretty well. I’m very much enjoying this throwback to the good old bitter days of IPAs. And, at $2.50 per can in California, it’s not even a bad deal.
