At first pour, this beer, a homage to Mexican lager, looks the part. Amber color, creamy head--so I'm thinking a Dos Equis knockoff. Then I tasted it. German lager qualities come through--from Magnum hops, Caramunich, Pilsner and Vienna malts. Mason Ale Works does more than a homage--it's raised the bar for a crisp, grainy beauty. Be prepared for the best Mexican lager you've ever had.

I had this from a can.
This pours a tan amber. Spackly caramel notes, nice hop kiss. An all around well done Mexican amber lager from a craft brewery.

Pours a clear gold with a hint of orange and a white head. Smells of caramel and sweet malts. Tastes of sweet malt, caramel, light hops, and light floral notes. Medium in both body and carbonation. Overall a very good amber/vienna lager.
