Okay, call it a novelty- It seemed like a good concept. Just because it does not neatly fit into the Accepted Construct of universal IPA -dom, I still get the craft statement being made by all this juicey ferment, the Vics secret hops messes with your nose- Is it Orange blossom, or elderberry? Hard to say. It is smooth and easy. Its like that movie weird science, when they make create Kelly La Brock but an alternative out come would be a metaphor for this beer, she comes out with a boys flat, skinny ass, and underdeveloped uneven breasts, and a beer gut- she's not Frankenstein, her character is actually quite good for a one night stand. Put it on the bucket list, acquire it, then cross it off and move on. It definitely shows some experimental chops, but to what end? Innovation for innovation's sake is wrong.

My first thought is "what is this"? The smell of lemongrass is overwhelming. Nothing else seems to register once your mind locks onto that. Light and sudsy mouthfeel is fine, though. No flavor of hops, just that herbal weirdness. Clear and attractive foamy pour, though.
They describe this as a "zero IBU IPA." That's an intriguing thought but it tastes like lemon soda with some spoiled fruit. I'm always happy to see experimentation in brewing. Just not always happy to drink the results. From the 12 oz can purchased at Bottleworks.

Pours a lightly hazy orange gold with a small white head. Smells of delicious sweet caramel, very fresh hops, pungent citrus, and light maltiness. Tastes of fresh fruity hops, citrus, caramel. and an odd aftertaste. Medium in body and carbonation. Overall a very good beer. While not my style really, this does allow the wonderful flavor of the hops to develop without hitting you with a bunch of bitterness.

Hell, I don't know. I mean, it's like ok. The can talks about this wacky process of avant garde brewing, but at the end of the day, what does it matter if the panties don't come off? And they kind of come off here; wonderful aroma and such, and it kind of meets the taste, but there is so much let down in the aftertaste that it's a bit of a disappoint. Here's an idea: hey breweries, cut the bs and brew a good beer without gimmicks.
