Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop cooler 11-7-18 for $3.75. Canned i believe in October. Consumed 2-22-19.

Beer poured black with a very nice tan head that is leaving lacing behind.

Nose is of dark chocolate and roasted malts.

Taste is very bitter between the heavily roasted malts and dark chocolate. A light cherry adds a very light touch of sweetness. Hopping is heavy enough to offset the malt sweetness.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and pretty smooth.

Overall a nice flavorful beer that is heavy on the bitter side, kind of an old school stout. Definitely enjoyed it but it is not for everyone.

I received this from @bum4ever in the NBS BIF 8.5 Secret Santa. Poured from undated 12 oz. can int a pint glass. It pours an oily inky black with over a finger of creamy, light khaki colored head and a thick film of lacing inside the glass. On the nose there is oatmeal, chocolate, fresh coffee, lite char, and nuts with just the faintest whiff of cherry. It's highly flavorful! It opens with burnt coffee grounds and char but the initial bitterness is slowly balanced by chocolate, oatmeal, and increasing cherry notes as the glass warms. The taste really opens as it breaths outside the can. This stout has a medium creamy mouth feel with a low level of carbonation and the gently warming 9.6% ABV gives it lots of substance. Overall, I really like this collaboration between California brewers. Queen Anne has all the qualities of a very good Russian Imperial Stout (my favorite beer style). About the only think lacking is a truly viscous mouth feel but that's not a significant issue. I'm grateful for the chance to enjoy this RIS.

Dark cannot see thru-
Smells sweet then Burnt, bitter, a stout for sure.
I should probably wax philosophical about glass lacing or head or color......whatever....nah!
Taste and feel-Good ,bitter not runny, not excessively thick or chewy, not creamy, solid abv at 9.4% can tell it's a solid abv but not excessively boozy , the bitter was upfront for me very bitter.
Had it in a 12 oz bottle.
I didn't pick up on coffee or molasses just a solid burnt bitter and deep dark chocolate flavor.
Poured it into a frozen stainless pint glass.

This stout pours with a fairly dark color and generates almost a finger of head on a semi-aggressive pour in this wide glass. Head retention is above average for the style, but the lacing is medium-grade. A nice ring of bubbles remains around the edge. Smell is very pleasant and dominated by rich roasted malts and cherries. Taste follows the nose perfectly. At first, you get hit with a magnitude of rich malts, then the cherries come out, and finally, the back end becomes a mix of cherries and dark chocolate. Feel is somewhat light for a big stout, but not unbelievably so (BCBS level). I'm happy with this stout. If I am not mistaken, this can has cost $3.50 (for an Imperial Stout!!!). Although this beer is cheap, it does well in terms of all 5 of BA's categories. I wish I had more.
