This beer had so much promise.. maple bourbon barrels, premium coffee, cacao nibs, maple syrup.. and it just let me down. The beer has no balls. A 13.9% Barleywine should be sticky like caramel and toffee, and packed with all of the barrel and flavorful goodness that was added, but this just lets those flavors slip away. I feel like the base beer needs work before the barrel can really introduce the punch that was intended.
