This West Coast IPA was brewed in collaboration with Horus Aged Ales and Run The Jewels. The beer highlights Run The Jewels latest single "No Save Point" from the soundtrack to the upcoming video game Cyberpunk 2077 featuring Keanu Reeves. Hopped with Nelson and Strata hops this West Coast IPA has a balanced bitterness and aromas of fresh berries and tropical fruit.

No Save Point from Mason Ale Works, in collaboration with Run the Jewels and Horus. Received on 21/2/21, cost $ 8.17 (Including shipping) for a 16 oz can ($ 0.510/oz) from Craftshack, San Diego, CA. Stored at home at 42 degrees. Reviewed 1/3/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Served at 48.4 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 54.5 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale Gold (SRM 4), clear.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), clear. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Large (Maximum 5.2 cm, aggressive center pour), old lace, medium density, average retention, leaving a seven to twenty mm undulating lacy crown fed by rapid effervescence, and a rocky complete cap. Second pour produces a 1.2 cm head.
Lacing – Fair. Wide bands of tiny to small bubbles with tattered upper edges and many oddly shaped stalactites on the bottom boundary. Both wide and skinny columns connect with the next lower band.
Aroma – 3.5 – Begins musty with some weak earthy melon and a little dankness, no malt, no yeast. Very weak at the end.
Flavor – 4 – Begins slightly bitter with moderate sparkling dankness. No malt, no yeast. No alcohol (7.1 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends moderately bitter and a bit earthy with a short hang-time.
Palate – 3.5 – Thin, watery, lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated can) Overall, a fair west coast IPA that I’d like to try when it’s fresher (Craftshack sat on the shipment about a month because of the weather here in the NE – damned if you do, damned if you don’t!). Thanks for putting the hop bill on the can.

Somewhat transparent but dark yellow, thin layer of head dissipates to a ring. Can see fingers through my glass but only just. Nose is strong pine, resin, with hints of tropical berry and a touch of vanilla. Taste is pine and dank, quite bitter but finishes a bit sweeter, perhaps some of that vanilla I caught on the nose? Full bodied, good mouth feel with a crisp and dry finish. Overall a pretty solid west coast IPA which being a Bostonian I could always use more of in my life. Worth the small effort to land even if the Horus/RTJ Collab makes it a bit kitschy
