Poured from a 16 ounce can dated 4/28/2025 into a shaker pint glass.
L - Pours a medium orange color with a fluffy white head that dissipates slowly.
S - Smell of pine and citrus.
T - Taste matches the smell, piney and of pineapple.
F - Medium body and carbonation.
O - Really good Double IPA.

The can art is a lot better in the new version. Love the blue flames on the lightsaber. I know it sounds cheesy, but it works.
This has a delightfully full-bodied malt backbone to it. I've grown accustomed to beers missing this, but it's really nice to be able to tell from the aroma alone that this is not one of those. Notes of sweet lime, honeydew, caramel, cereal grain, pear, white peach, mango, golden apple, apricot, tangerine and a strong finish of honeycrisp apple juice.
On the palate, I get a lot of lime zest, underripe pear, apple, mango and dilute tangerine and pineapple juice, with a caramelly malt base that finishes surprisingly astringent.
Reminds me of a hoppy NEIPA in mouthfeel. Not really what I prefer.
But overall a great beer. I hope they continue to brew it.

Name: OB-1 Can OBI`
Brewery: Mason Ale Works
Location: San Marco, CA
Style: Imperial IPA
ABV: 10.5%
Date: Unknown
OB-1 Can OBI is next on the review table. Served at 46 degrees in a tulip glass. The last of my Star Wars beers, and this one did not explode. The pour created a bright white frothy, airy two-fingered head with dismal retention. The head came and went like my high school years and left nothing on the glass. Charting the color around SRM 6 medium golden with a dark straw yellow hue. The clarity is hazy with tiny carbonation bubbles. The appearance is okay; I would have liked to see a longer-lasting head.
Nosing the glass, I smell pineapple, mangos, lemons, grapefruit, light melon, a hint of pine resin, honeysuckle, a touch of bay leaves, artisan crusty bread, orange peels, biscuits, and grassy. Smell like a New England IPA with a Northwest hops vibe.
The flavor is less intense than the aromas. I taste peaches, melons, grapefruit, pineapple, guava, passionfruit, a touch of pine resin, crusty bread, mandarin orange, honeysuckle, mangos, dewy grass, and lemon rind.
The mouthfeel is astringent and finishes somewhat dry. The body is medium-plus and has medium-light carbonation.
Overall the beer is simple yet complex; the array of hops gives the beer depth. The alcohol content is not noticeable, making it an easy sipper. I would have liked the flavor to match the nose's intensity.

16oz can at share. Golden hazy pour with an abundant white foamy head. Aroma is malty and hoppy, fruity notes, grassy. Taste amps up the hops to an almost dank level, sweet, fruity, earthy. Bitterness lingers.

I don't see any date listed on the can.
Appearance: It has an orange colored body that is completely opaque. It has a medium-sized head with large bubbles and has a tobacco stained off-white color. Not much head retention and no lacing but the color of the beer is fantastic.
Aroma: It has a nice grapefruit scent which is somewhat strong. A light bit of alcohol on the nose. It smells pretty good as a whole.
Taste: It has a grassy flavor up front with hints of old dusty chocolate. It gets peppery in the middle of the palate. Some cabbage towards the back with some grass and a little bit of grapefruit bitterness.
Mouthfeel: There is just a light bit of hop burn and some dull hop bitterness that is slightly raspy. Medium body with some thickness.
Overall: The appearance is really nice and the aroma is good too. The flavor is pretty muddled and doesn't have very good flavors but it is still drinkable. The same goes for the mouthfeel; it just feels muddy. The label states that this is a "DOUBLE DRY HOPPED HAZY DOUBLE INDIA PALE ALE WITH CITRA & GALAXY HOPS." Appearance-wise it is in the style of a New England Double IPA but it is more grassy and bitter than what would normally be wanted. As a whole it is pretty average. I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it but it is drinkable.
