San Diego can do no wrong. Mason Ale Works offers up the quintessential West Coast style. i wasn’t familiar with their beers previously but with this one they’ve earned their stripes. the feel is spot on and the overall experience is kinda like a straight up IPA but way more chill.

16oz can, Duvel tulip, but no freshness date on an IPA!
Lightly hazed gold with a bubbly white head.
Doesn’t smell too fresh. Mosaic, banana, unripe berry with low intensity.
Take the intensity down a notch. Citrus shows up, as does some juiciness. Bitterness is medium-low. Not real west coast.
Juicy, but drying. Moderate carbonation.
Points off for not actually being to sub-style (let’s go if you think West Coast IPA isn’t a sub-style!) and not having a packaging date.
