This beer is a collaboration between Mason Ale Works and Blackstack Brewing in St Paul Minnesota. The can calls it a Triple IPA. This is another candidate for an "Imperial NEIPA" style. Very "New England" but strong enough to be an Imperial IPA. Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer features a huge foamy white head with excellent retention. There are thick, wide bands of lacing on the glass and a nice NE-like hazy straw yellow color. A good looking beer!!! Aroma and taste feature a nice blend between grapefruit and, to a lesser degree, tropical fruit from the hops and some dry, biscuity malt. the bitterness level is moderate. Mouthfeel is rich (from the malt balance), crisp and moderately bitter. No alcohol harshness at 9.8% abv. A bit rich to belt down like a lawnmower beer, but still deceptively smooth for a high alcohol beer. A good one!!!!
