Elora Borealis is a lightly malted pale ale that is bittered, flavoured, and dry-hopped exclusively with Citra Hops. A bright, floral nose gives way to crisp, light malt flavours and finishes with several citrus notes.

From a 473ml can dated 02 Oct 2025. Poured into a pint glass. A two finger bubbly white head on a cloudy gold. Excellent head retention. Sheets of foamy lacing.
Lots of tropical fruit, some pine in the nose. The taste follow the nose. Some citrus peel. A bit thin in the taste department. The flavours are quite muted compared to the nose. A dry, long, very mild hop finish.
Medium body and carbonation. clean and easy drinking. Overall true to the style but not great.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. Canned April 10/25. My 5th beer from the Elora, Ontario brewery, and 4th for 2025. Enthusiastically endorsed by Gracie the cat...

Pours a hazy, straw-gold colour with a two finger thick, dense white head of neatly packed bubbles. Good staying power, the head that does collapse leaves behind thick foamy lacing. This beer is about three weeks old at time of drinking. ‘Drink Fresh’ printed on the label, and promptly followed!
Citrus, pine, lemon-lime peel. Light black pepperiness on the back end. Some malts, general cereal grains present but take a backseat to the hoppy flavours. Resinous smell up front, but with many modern PAs and IPAs in the new world, there is a splash of juiciness backing it all up.
I don’t know if it’s just me — I did have some carrots beforehand, and I don’t like eating before reviewing a beer for the first time because it can’t alter flavours — but I don’t get much of a hoppy, citra hit on this beer. In fact, even the malts are incredibly gentle. The flavours are muted for me compared to the nose. Gentle grains and very muted citrus, lemon and some grapefruit.
Well, it does succeed on the mouthfeel. Light bodied, moderate to above moderate carbonation with a lightly biting edge to each sip, this beer has a crisp snap on the finish and is incredibly clean on the palate afterwards. Very easy to drink.
Based on aroma, can itself, and reviews I read afterwards, I expected a lot more. I think I will need to revisit this one maybe on tap or something. For the price, I can’t justify running out to grab it for another try. Maybe in the future. For what it’s worth, not a bad beer at all. Just nothing incredibly special

LCBO Ottawa 2019. Hazy amber with a strong head and lacing. Full-on Citra hop nose. Yum. Medium malt body with some hop bitterness to finish. Proper APA balance, not encroaching on IPA territory. Crisp, encouraging another sip. A good entry.

Pours a pale gold with a slight haze and small head. Head breaks quickly leaving a small island of bubbles. Not much in the way of lacing.
Smell is Citra hops - juicy citrus, rind and pith. Then you get an earthiness and grassy smell. Not quite resin.
Taste is Citra led, then I get a bready or biscuity malt. The malts really begin to overpower the hops as I drink this, and I find the hops become much more grassy as I go. Not great for a Citra led APA.
Feel is medium bodied, with good carbonation. Biscuity malt finish and grassy.
Well, it started better than it finished. The key drawback on this one in my opinion is that the promised Citra doesn't pop enough. Too bad, just gets lost in the mix as a mediocre APA as a result.

This one is pleasant enough to drink repeatedly, with a nice citrus taste and gentle pine. Works better than expected for a non IPA that carries at least some of that style. It could have used more alcohol but even as it is, it isn't bad at all.

Pours a slightly cloudy amber colour with a tall white head which fades moderately quickly; leaves little lacing. Aroma is all citrus. Taste follows with a burst of grapefruit & other tropical fruits in behind. Sweet & juicy with some decent sweet malts in behind. I would enjoy this again but the price would stop me from making it a regular.

Cloudy, dull, mango flesh coloured body. Head is egg shell white with a decent few minutes retention.
Fresh citrus and exotic fruit aromas leaping from the glass. Peach, mango, orange, tangerine. Sweet like candy.
The initial excitement of the aroma falls flat on the palate. It's bland, bitter hops, just pith and resin, lacking any fruity notes. Dry and long finish. An equally bland malt backbone provide some balance. Medium body and carbonation.
You can skip this one, there's not much to be said about it!
