LOOK - nice copper color with a reddish hue - decent head upon pour from a 22oz. bottle - a bit hazy - retention is decent and activity continues on after the head recedes
SMELL - this was a bit funky smelling / tart fruit - slight hoppiness - some caramel and maltiness
TASTE - bitter bite upfront - quite a bit of funk and actually sour for some reason - slightly rich and sweet/caramel, but sourness is overpowering
FEEL - medium bodied - a bit thinner than expected - carbonation nearly goes away after about halfway through the brew
OVERALL - i don't think this is a good representation of the style - I don't believe that any Red/Amber Ale should have this sour of a flavor unless it has some Brett. added in or it somehow went a bit bad - it just wasn't rich and roasty as it should be - Reds have a nice funk tang to them, but this one was off to me

Red ales aren't my favorite style, but this one is worth a try.

This beer is too malty in my opinion. The smell and taste are all sweet malt. If you like that kinda beer you'll enjoy it. Otherwise, beautiful label and color. Bad beer
