objectively not their best beer in here, it seems a bit undercooked in the fermenter to me, i dont believe this is trying to be a milk stout or anything, so its odd that its as sugary as it is, any roast in the grain profile is kind of lost to this brown sugar and caramel richness that lingers long on the finish, a big distraction in this to me, really limits how much of it i want to drink too. this is more brown than black, has a pretty light body for what it is, and the lack of roast to balance the sweetness is an issue, like this either needs to be drier or it needs to have a lot more dark barley in it. i like the nuances of tobacco and raisin, and think it has a nice malt construction overall. i also like the yeast being out of the way but not totally invisible, and i think this has some promise, it just needs a few more days in the fermenter. brown sugar, toffee, light smoke, caramel, and some rich dark and milk chocolate tones that give this some depth. less carbonation than it needs so it sits especially long on the palate, not bad, but not quite there yet, and i dont get a lot from the oats in this either. this needs a little fine tuning...
