another true to style and decent but largely unremarkable brew, the yeast is just too samey, too cultured and everywhere for this to be unique in any way, nothing old worldy about it either, almost overly refined, and without bottle or keg conditioning in the traditional manner, the texture of these can never be right, a tricky style for an american brewery to take on, and this is fine, but nothing above and beyond. a nice clarity to it, honey colored, with a lively belgian looking head, good pour to this one. it smells and tastes estery like a belgian strain ive had a million time, pear and apple cider, light white pepper and clove spiciness, and some green banana starchiness to it, not overly hot it doesnt seem, but allowed to lead the flavor charge for sure. the body is light, the grain taste is subtly sweet but thats it, and its relatively fast finishing. a touch soapy at temperature, but not offensive or anything, and i like the accent on the spice late. thankful for the high carbonation, good attention to detail there. overall decent, but i need a little more from the ferment in this style, nothing against the beer or the execution.
