On the bottle, it says best before 08/16/2018.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking bright almost pink color with barely any head - no matter how hard or how many times I poured this, there was always practically no head. I did notice some bubbles forming along the sides of the rim of the top.
The aroma shaped some sour to tart cherries over some lemon sour rind with some grassy hops.
The flavor seemed to miss some of that sameness of the aroma. It didn't take a turn for the worse, it just seemed to add in a woody to earthy taste that I wasn't so sure about. It just seemed a bit different. Then there was a mild earthy to lemony to grassy and earthy sort of aftertaste that I accepted.
The mouthfeel was semi-syrupy but not cloying. Carbonation felt alright, perhaps could have been just a tad more.
Overall, it's an extremely odd sour ale. If you don't mind some earthiness and grassiness, as if the brewer plucked this thing out of his barn, well, try this. But this isn't anything to any Hill Farmstead sour, just sayin'.
