Can to tulip.
Best by date on the back reads "Jan 1, 2019."
The appearance was a pale pink grapefruit pulpy color with a small white foamy head that seemed to dissipate the usual way an AWA dissipates. Nice looking spreading lace strings out appropriately.
The aroma has some shaved sweet and tart strawberries rolling into subtle tart rhubarb notes. Some sweetness of the rhubarb. Blended level of sour between the two fruits.
The flavor yields to the sour-ness initially and develops some tartness and a sly sweetness coming about. Sour touch of lemon just before the aftertaste hits which is strawberry, rhubarb and a touch of lemon.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Sour harshness seemed to hit a bit more than expected but then again, I've had so many sours lately with the involvement of lactose. Because of the lack of the lactose, yes, this one has a bit of that "old school pucker" I remember from when I first started trying this style.
Overall, honestly, this is a well done beer taking two fruits that compliment each other wonderfully and making this a certain Summer pleaser. Damn, Kevin, great job, man!
