Can.
Poured into a thistle (correct glassware for the style).
The appearance was dark orangey to brown color with a fair transparency about it. Small finger and a half worth of white foamy head slid off at a proper pace. Some filmy slightly messy in its lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of sweet maple syrup flowing into some smoke, then dried honey, earthiness, peat, grassiness and some woodiness.
The flavor slightly takes that dried honey sweetness to intertwine with the maple then some smoky peaty dry earthy grassy bitterness. Subtle maple to honey and smoky aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, perhaps a touch under some stickiness but fine. Definitely has an earthy/peaty dryness to it. Nice low carbonation. ABV seemed right. Finish was dry earthy, woody, peaty and some maple.
Overall, pretty nice scotch ale, perhaps a bit drier than expected but it definitely works. Good job, Kevin. Only question I have is who's "Jamie and Sam?" On the back of the can, it says that.
