Hazy amber color with beige head. Aroma is earthy with some nutty malt and spicy grains. Taste starts also grainy, spicy, earthy, slightly on the bitter side. Finish is even more bitter and hoppy with deep earthy/woody notes. full bodied with smooth mouthfeel. A really nice surprise. A really somehow rustic feeling beer with complex notes. I even get some slight astringent, smoky flavor.

A new interpretation of a 13th century beer, the Alte Welt is smokey and bitter, while remaining extremely drinkable. Brewed with three hops, cascade, saphir, and an oak bark hop (as the original 13th century ale used herbs and no hops), this beer is well rounded and perfect year round. Easily my favorite at Labyrinth. Expect an amber color and lasting foam, you won’t be disappointed.
