This beer is the ideal refreshment after that always-awkward, golden shovel photo opp. It’s the proper way to toast any groundbreaking, but brewed especially for our move to the new Titletown District across from Lambeau.

One of my favorite beers last spring was Lake Front Maibock. The first time I saw it, there was one 6-pack at the store, already marked down as a close out. Well, today I saw it for the first time this yea and put a couple bottles in my mix 6. And then I saw Bodenbrecher Double Pils. Seems sort of Maibocky? Lets give it a go. I'm not disappointed. This is the sort of beer I only drink one of = big, almost not quite hiding the booze, walking a delicate balance between almost too sweet and almost too bitter in the finish. The maltiness reads Maibock too me, while the bitterness goes a little beyond that, It's still winter up here in the Hinterland, and this is a good choice.
Golden color. Big head up front but fast to recede, initial smell and taste reminds me of candied pineapple, but the malty sweetness washes it away, followed by the bitter finish. If I saw a single of this every weekend until spring, I just might survive the winter.

12oz bottle, willi becher glass. Darker golden body, clear with a one finger white head, good retention, bit of lacing. Smell is crisp pilsner malt, bread, biscuit and a slight dose of honey, slight floral notes, herbal and a little bit of lemon. Flavour follows, clean pilsner malt, a little of that pumpernickel spice, more bread, a decent floral bite on the backend, very solid flavour profile. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation, a bit fuller than a typical pilsner but also accompanied by a bit more flavour, and consequently a slight bit more of a sipper. Good stuff, solid imperial pilsner, different in a good way.

Deep yellow body; lively carbonation; thick, foamy, white head. Toasted wheat cracker aroma. Light grain flavor; whole-grain cracker; moderately intense hop bitterness. Medium-light body; crisp and sharp on the palate.
An intriguing double pilsner, the highlight being its distinct wheat cracker aroma (that also makes itself known, to a lesser degree, in the flavor). It pretty well masks the ABV although its presence is also noticeable. All in all, well worth trying.

Poured 12oz bottle from a "pick six" into German Pils glass.
Has a somewhat darker yellow color than most Pilsners and it is very clear with a sandy colored one finger head with decent retention and lacing present on the glass.
The aroma is of bread/malt grains - quite nice.
Flavor is initially sweet with some bread/malt - just like the nose. Has a bit of an herbal tone to it and perhaps some hops sticking through but could be the alcohol. Very well balanced IMO.
Mouthfeel is medium with a decent amount of carbonation and finishes dry with a bit of bitterness but not overly so.
Overall, this beer was a pleasant surprise. This breweries Packerland Pils is utterly lacking IMO but this is in a world on its own and I will definitely not hesitate to buy this again

Bright yellow color, not as pale as other pilsners. Smells like sweet bread grains, big aroma. Taste is classic pilsner maltiness, just amped up to 11. Lots of malt body, hides the alcohol content pretty well. Probably could use more hops to balance it out, but its not severely lacking in hops by any means. Plenty of carbonation bite. Its heavier than a normal pilsner, but still light enough to drink it fast if you'd want to. This brewery's regular Packerland Pilsner isn't great, but this one's worth purchasing again.

12 oz. bottle -
Pours deep golden with a creamy lasting white head that leaves plenty of lacing down the glass.
The smell is of lemongrass and bready grain.
The taste is of grain and lemongrass. Sweet becoming semi-dry in the finish.
It is light-to-medium bodied. Could be a tad crisper (but not "complaining").
A nice example of the style.

Poured 12oz bottle into Pils glass. Has a deep golden copper color that is very clear with a sandy colored 2 finger head. Streams of micro bubbles float to a thin cap that leaves lacing on my glass. The aroma is of bready-maltiness that lends a sweetness to the herbal, spicy hop addition. Flavor is initially sweet with some bread and a touch of honey. Hops come in a bit later with a herbal quality and a touch of bitterness. Feel is soft, yet clean and quite crisp. A malt lovers dream of a big pils.
