Sampled 5/22.
Pours dark brown with modest carbonation and a small head of foam. Aroma is hazelnut with chocolate. Taste is hazelnut and a bit of chocolate, or fudge, at the end. I'm not sensing vanilla or coffee, though what might pass for coffee is a bitter aftertaste.

L - Very dark brown. Appears opaque. Relatively tall light-brown head. Good retention.
S - Rich dark malts. Mainly dark fruits - raisins and plums. Chocolate.
T - Unsurprisingly dark malts dominate. Quite sweet with chocolate and nuts most prominent. A little burnt coffee and cola, too.
F - Medium.
O - Interesting mix of flavors, but not quite the right balance for me. A little thinner than I expected.

16 oz can poured into Ommegang Snifter.
Deep and dark creamy coffee black with a creamy head of 2 fingers of brown-beige, with speckles of lacing up the sides.
Aromas of coffee, sweet hazelnut, and hints of vanilla.
Flavor is of delicious coffee, vanilla creme, mahogany, espresso, hazelnut, and Irish Creme.
Creamy feel with a distinct roastiness and a nice level of moderate carbonation.
Overall, my review here is short and succinct because everything is right out front, nothing hidden, nothing of depth to search for. It's all on the surface and doesn't develop on the palate at all, which for some can be boring, but I consider this a basic high gravity semi-sweet coffee stout. Not bad, came in a little below my expectations but still a decent tall can stout.

Poured 16oz can into snifter. Coffee black with a 2 finger tan head that fades into a thick collar and leaves spotty lacing on the glass. Oatmeal stout aroma with fudge and chocolate chip cookies with slight hint of hazelnut. The taste is well balanced and not very sweet. I am glad that the hazelnut flavors are hidden in the roasted malt and fudge flavors. Hints of caramel and toasted marshmallow. Rich, smooth with soft carbonation give it a full feel. This was another great beer that is not a super sweet pastry stout.
