A bright IPA in the truest sense. Heavy additions of wheat and oats create a lush mouthfeel. We walloped this one with some of our favorite American hops (Amarillo, Mosaic and Simcoe) in the whirlpool and dry hop. Notes of ripe orange peel, fresh picked tangerine and citrus. An all-day crusher that won’t tire the palate.

DATE: August 17, 2024... OCCASION: enjoying the weekend (before 80% of the family returns to school) with a beer capable of rewinding the summer? One can dream... GLASSWARE: nonick... this pours from a sixteen-ounce can an opaque golden-orange body that holds its frothy white head substantially... when it settles, it does so into coral that leaps and arcs appreciably... the hop combo is on full nasal display, with orange, lemon, lime, and even blueberry detectable... apricot and pine also push through... the malt backbone isn't substantial, but that probably isn't the goal here either... its sip is a gentle, puckering experience, with enough tartness to get one's attention but medium-bodied enough not to discourage the next sip... sharp at the teeth and smooth through the mouth, it leaves a pleasant, floral finish... a cornucopia of fruit flavors in this, with orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, and berry mix with pine to build pleasant, hop-forward beer with low bitterness and high drinkability...

It's fine. Missing a lot of notes and lack of flavor. I can drink it but I'd rather have something else.

It's a pretty pour to empty a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. It produced a short-lived off-white head that quickly became little more than a film. The color of the brew is yellow-amber, bright, but quite cloudy. Not particularly aromatic, there are faint notes of orange and/or tangerine, with the emphasis on faint. Its taste isn't exactly bud-blowing, neither. Fans of Simcoe hops surely will be expecting a little more earthy flavor and a better bite. Even during the finish, the taste is mild. That may please the many that aren't hop-heads. This is nicely balanced, although to be redundant, at a rather mild level. There's enough taste to like it, but not love it. Almost no glass lacing occurred, but that wouldn't have salvaged much. There's some refreshing carbonation within a medium that delivers a very pleasant mouthfeel. Boy! a little more zing from the hops and this would be excellent.

Notes via stream of consciousness: Three 3's Back To Reality IPA has poured a cloudy golden body beneath a finger's width of white foam. The aroma is fairly limited but it is 5 months old. I'm getting a generall kind of tropical fruit smell. On to the taste... well there's some yeast there which is interesting. I'm not particularly fond of that. The hop notes are subdued as they are in the aroma, well, at least for an IPA. I'm getting some orange, papaya, mango, berry, nectarine, passionfruit, apricot, grassiness, earthiness, pine, and herbs. Obviously it's still got something to it but the flavors don't pop you have to look for them. The malt is lightly sweetish and bready with wheat and noticeable oats. It's moderately bitter but still mostly dry in the finish with lingering notes of earthiness, herbs, and pine. The head has held up well so far and I've got a solid surface covering of creamy foam. Above that there are wide rings of lace rising up to where the head first began ~ points for head retention and lacing. In the mouth it's medium bodied with a delicate bristle on the tongue before becoming creamy-smooth ~ points for that as well. Overall it's a very decent NEIPA but it's nowhere near the top of the pack.

Really good brew. I am a northeast IPA lover and this is awesome. Nice citrus that bumps up to just enough without being too much. Get some good solid hop at the back end. Really good and the artwork on the can is a must have for any BTF movie fans.
I originally bought it because of the name and artwork AND I thought it was from Three Floyd's. This is probably the only time I will ever say this but I'm glad it was not from Three Floyd's because the actual brewer,Three 3's, is only 20 minutes from home so can get it nice and fresh. Batch I had was born two weeks ago!
