a delicious honey oat ipa, one of the best hop forward beers we had in florida and one of the best beers from our visit to bury me, which if you are in the fort myers area, is not to be missed! some haze to this one and a full inch of white head on top of the globe, a pale straw colored brew underneath, frothy and rich looking. i smell some honey with the malt right away, faint orange blossom and springy sweetness, delicate in a pretty substantial beer. i pick up some lightly baked grain elements, not raw but not necessarily malted either, oat and wheat in the mix here i would think. the base the form in the flavor is awesome for the hops, sweet and earthy meet citrus intensity from the hops, driven by a fragrant orange element as well as some pretty serious bitterness as it moves along, more than enough to balance out the contribution of the honey. some pine freshness here, and a nice creamy feel from the oats, hearty and almost healthy feeling, a real meal of an ipa here. impressive complexity and execution on this one. these guys rule!
