the mortali tea series of beers uses different and often strange teas in varying base beers and was a total success in both of them they had on when we were there. this is a cream ale brewed with strawberry tea and is absolutely delicious, one of my favorite beers in this place, but they were kind of all my favorite, and i left here about as stoked as you can be on a place. this is the kind of innovation that makes them exciting to me. this smells and tastes like freeze dried little strawberries, like the ones you find in cereal, and there is a dried grassy component from the tea itself that adds some nice bitterness, balancing the sweetness of the strawberry. there is a little tang to it too which adds to the highly refreshing nature of this one, plus, the base cream ale is crisp yet sturdy enough to hold these strong flavors well without losing itself. with the tea at the end this almost tastes hoppy, like the tea covers that role very well. the fruit aspect of this is really interesting, and i would love to have a cup of the tea independent of the beer, really strawberry forward, unmistakably so. overall this is an awesome beer, well put together, highly carbonated, and completely original. this was a huge favorite among our group!
