Dark brown ( almost black) color. Thin, beige head. The aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Roasted bitterness in taste. No surprises but well done in general.

A classic tasting stout. deep roasted malts, a bit of carbonation, a touch of bitterness, a long lasting malt and hop aftertaste.
I wish this beer had a bit more complexity, perhaps of figs, dry fruit, plums, fireplace feel too it. But it's an honest stout, straight up.

Poured from a 16oz can into a Speiglau stout glass.
Look is a pitch dark with a cafe au lait head.
Aroma is astrigent dry malt.
Taste is more of that dry roasted malt.

16 oz can. Pours black with tall, long lasting, creamy, beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is of toasted malt, chocolate and brown sugar. Body is full, creamy and smooth. Taste is of burnt grain, chocolate and earthy hops. Finish is long, almost dry. So so brew.

On tap at Arts and Crafts Beer Parlor, NYC.
Pours a mostly black color with hints of dark mahogany. A brown tinted white creamy film retains all throughout, its appearance placid and serene.
The nose immediately emits a moderate char and roasty malts. Malt aroma also evokes nut and raw cocoa.
Dry palate with significant bitterness that evokes charred wood, bark, espresso roast and earthy hops. Flavors also bring forth dark walnut, peanut skins and raw cocoa. Any sweetness fleetingly hints at chocolate and dark caramel, however, it is quite mild and subtle. A dry and bitter finish leaves a roasty linger.
Medium bodied and smooth as it warms. The ABV makes it easy to drink.
Solid sessionable ABV stout that highlights some nice roasted flavors.

On tap at Six Harbors Brewing, it pours pitch black color with a foamy 2 finger head that faded and left minimal spotty lacing. Smells and tastes like drinking a Manhattan Special soda, lots of roasted malts, cocoa powder, burnt coffee grinds, charred wood, chocolate malts, toasted grains, light caramel and a chocolate sweetness that ties all the flavors together.

Enjoyed on draft at the brewery. Very nice looking brew, great foam head, well blended. I got a very strong bite and an impartial balance of flavor. This one should be aging nicely in some bourbon barrels.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a half finger high tan head that died down, leaving a large patch bubbles on surface and collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of dark chocolate and roasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but is much stronger, particularly with the flavors of roasted malts.
M: it feels medium bodied on palate and has moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very malty and roasty—it’s almost like drinking a coffee black.
Serving type: on-tap
