Can from Martin (CalvWood) with Lisa at home.

Just OK, pretty tame.

Hazy pale yellow color with off-white head. Aroma has soft stonefruit notes, orange and some ripe melon. Taste is hoppy, a bit astringent, herbal bitterness on the finish. Medium body with medium plus carbonation. Decent NE style IPA but a bit too astringent.

Pours an unclear yellow, with fine, soapy foam.

Smell is slightly sweet with grassy notes and hints of apricots and canned peaches.

Taste goes along the lines of nose, with the peaches taking the reigns more. Fairly mellow bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a good IPA, that needs a bit more oomph.

Picked this up when it was released at Interboro last year, finally getting around to it tonight. I had the original but this one was hardly an improvement over it. Sure, it's smooth, easy to drink, and a quality brew like most of Interboro's other offerings but nothing about this in particular stood out to me, though there wasn't anything that was less than average about this at the same time!

Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a muted goldenrod with plenty of haze, a sufficient head, and plenty of lacing left behind once I start to put it down. Lots of muted melon, papaya, orange, and metallic hops in the nose from the Citra and Amarillo hops as this had a nice earthy undertone to it. Moderate citrus slickness, dankness, and mildly bitter hops came through in the taste as this had an incredible smoothness to it that helped tie everything in together. As this warmed up, it felt more like a Wild Ale than a typical American IPA as a woodsy, raw mouthfeel took over as an unrefined, outdoorsy tone took over and softly faded away into the next sip...

The amount of booze here was spot-on as a slight warming effect took hold of me but only enhanced the full and slightly odd range of flavors that were present. Not a bad brew but nothing outstanding either and if you like your beers with mild hints of 420, then look no further. In the end, this beer dated 7/13 on the bottom of the can with "DDH DOUBLE HIGH DROPPED" below it wasn't a haze bomb like other examples from this neck of the woods. Instead, this IPA had plenty going on under the surface, though it never felt quite sure of what it truly wanted to be!
