Brewed in collaboration with our friends Kings County Beer Collective. This double dry-hopped double IPA was brewed with Simcoe Dust, Cascade and Eureka and dry-hopped with a blend of Citra and Simcoe pellets and lupulin dust. Pours hazy pale yellow, with dank citrus and pineapple on the nose, and a distinct fresh tortilla finish ;)

Picked this beer up last year at Interboro, as the date on the bottom of the can read 8/23 with "CATNIP" written below it. I had this at the brewery as well with some tortilla chips and amazingly, this beer complemented those quite nicely. Lighter and full of corn in the body, this collaboration with KCBC was something different than their typical offerings, but just as enjoyable!
As was the case with the beers from these guys that I've previously had, the pour to this was lovely with plenty of lively and long-lasting foam to top it off. The liquid was a murky goldenrod with just a hint of sediment, though that was probably my fault and not a result of their efforts. Only a few spotty suds could be seen on the side of my pint glass as this was a bit thinner than I would have liked. Lots of orange juice, passion fruit, and tortilla corn on the nose as the odd assortment of flavors ended up working together. The taste had some earthy, dank notes to it as the hops would have led me to believe with a wonderful slickness underneath it that felt like tangerines and limes without the rind. The body felt like yellow, red, and black corn chips as this finished quite dry and a bit grainy though it complemented the Mexican-like citrus quite nicely.
The amount of alcohol present was spot-on and I can't honestly say that I ever had a beer who's moniker was a palindrome. Some nachos and a good quesadilla would have complemented this nicely, as the beer warmed me up a bit and nearly called for a lime chaser. A lovely brew that wasn't like anything I had before, while seeming oddly familiar at the same time!
