Interboro. Other Half. Perhaps no two breweries better encapsulate the growth of beer in Brooklyn than these two. I've been to both more than enough times to count and have liked nearly everything that I've bought at them so I was excited to give this one a go. While this wasn't a disappointment, I expected something a bit more generic than this. Don't get me wrong - anyone who likes either won't be let down by this but this beer was just a bit of a letdown given what went into this...
This poured like a New England IPA with the color of orange juice, the haze of something unfiltered, and topped off with a sufficient head. No lacing was left behind as this was a bit thinner than I would have liked. Lots of oats, tangy citrus, and scallions in the nose as the taste was just as acrid and biting as the nose led me to believe. A fair amount of orange juice, biting grapefruit, and garlic spice came through in the taste as this was deep, spicy, and piercing - maybe a bit more than I would have liked. Balanced, somewhat chalky on the palate, and slick enough in the aftertaste to hold my attention, this was a find IPA that held my attention but left me wanting more in the end.
There was enough booze here as it was spot-on, which didn't surprise me given who had a hand in this beer's collaboration. No date on the bottom of the can as the label was fitting for Interboro at the same time. While this wasn't fresh, I don't think that a new can of this would have impressed me enough to change my rating of this. Yes, this beer was nicely crafted but could have been so much more and in a crowded category, it needed a lot more going for it to stand out. At least I can say that I'm glad that these two breweries finally got together!

Collab with Other Half, featuring 2-Row malt, oats, English ale yeast, and Citra, Amarillo, and El Dorado hops; double dry hopped... Murky and opaque medium-golden color... Hits home with lots of citrus and stone fruit, and undertones of pine resin... Has a sharp tang but also a chewier, dank undercurrent... Nice fruity shellac and stick on the finish... Good stuff... Based on Interboro's instagram page, I'm guessing this was an 11/17/18 release...
