Collaboration with Yeastie Boys
Brewed in collaboration with the Brewserker and The Yeastie Boys, this beer pours the color of pink lemonade with a thin head. Tart ans refreshing with subtle notes of fruit on the pallet - this beer is perfect for sitting on the stoop, the beach patio. Brewed with Pils vienna malt. Soured overnight in our kettle with lactobacillus, then boiled and fermented with American Ale yeast. Raspberry added during the fermentation and fresh lemon zest added immediately prior to packaging.

-Berliner style.
A: Literally an volcanic eruption in my vessel, a fury the likes I have never seen comes on the pour with a raging effervesce that feared will tip my glass, violent and dense for the first few moments. Things settle eventually, but still remains is the heavy dense like coloring with a few good moments. The head is foamy and large at three plus fingers and holds its own quite well. The coloring is a dirty brass-golden orange. The visual is strong as well the audible tones from the carbonation.
S: A bit of sour lemons and stalky grains. Hints of lime and sour fruitiness of pear and apricot in particular. Overall a fair awareness factor with a light muskiness of cobwebs that comes with the style.
T: Golden fruit pears and a twang of oranges and wheat for the flavor on the open. Tart and funky, suited to style, with damp grains, hay, and spicy apricots. Dank fruitiness with some spritzy lemon-lime accents concludes.
M: Good vibes from the carbonation, another strong indication of style, a particular heavy body with some syrupy feel. Crisp and well suited.
O: Overall a Berliner that's alive with effervesce as well flavor. Tangy and tart fruitiness, dry tartness, hay and muskiness with a lively explosive carbonation brings everything together. Great feel and fullness and a lot of bang from a 4%. Nice sour twang.

If you are CANming late to today's show, The CANQuest (tm) would like to provide the following recap of recent events as a PSA. In CAN effort to close out Untappd's "Better Together" badge, The CANQuest (tm) assembled all of the collaboration beers (& otherwise) from Barrier BC in his extensive backlog & systematically eradicated them through perseverance, reviews & ratings, CANminating last night. The next brewery in line for this treatment is Interboro, also noted for CANned CANlaboration beers and also with a large backlog presence. This beer also creates a bridge since my last WBAYDN post ended with a Beastie Boys video & this beer is from Interbro in CANlaboration with … Yeastie Boys! 8=O
From the CAN: "Berliner Style with Raspberry and Lemon added"; "Interboro x Yeastie Boys"; "Brewed with our friends from Yeastie Boys"; "Come Visit Us and Our Tasting Room".
For this one, I did some in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing open the vent to begin a steady, heavy-handed C-Line Glug. I was successful in that it was mildly-hazy, but the rolling, roiling, fizzing finger of pinkish-white head quickly reduced to wisps. Color was a lightly-hazy pinkish-Amber (SRM = N/A or > 7, < 9). Nose was of lightly-tart raspberry, very evocative of my late-paternal grandmother's backyard garden in the Summer. Mmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, on par for the style. The taste had a definite tartness, as my lips pursed after each sip, lightly lemony and very much of raspberry. Mmm. It is such a beautiful day that at any other time, I would happily take this out on my front porch to sip while watching traffic go by. Now, I am self-quarantined, socially distanced & the traffic is down to a trickle. 8=( I will just have to be satisfied that this is a very pleasant interlude in an unpleasant time & be satisfied. Finish was semi-dry to dry with a lingering raspberry lemonade flavor. Mmm. YMMV.
