Collaboration with Equilibrium Brewery and Evil Twin Brewing NYC
It's for real though, let's connect politic - ditto. Celebrating the Chef with another dank release. This time we enlisted the help of two NY State powerhouse breweries, Equilibrium & Evil Twin. Pours deep yellow in color, with luxuriant calgon style white foam. Aromas of fresh rolled peach ring candy and honeydew melon. Brewed with pilsner + heaps of oats and wheat. Fermented with English ale yeast, hopped with Citra, Mosaic & El Dorado.

A rare find, poured from a pint can into a clear pint glass and it almost fits. There is a tight little head atop, followed by some nice lacing. Color is an orange-amber. Smell is a little more fruity and yeasty than expected from a DIPA. Same for the taste. The British ale yeast really comes through. Its a nicely heavy and dank tasting brew, just on the sweet side for its style.

On tap, it had classic DIPA looks with a nice 2 finger foamy head that faded slowly and left fine foamy lacing as the head receded. It’s got a pungent citrus nose that brought grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel and a bunch of tropical fruit with some malt in the background. Taste is a nice mix of citrus hops that has plenty of tropical flavor, grapefruit, tangerine and orange peel that gives off accents that resemble Evil Twin and Interboro IPA’s. Really smooth and enjoyable overall, this was a solid collaboration.

Thank you CanConPhilly for this
16 oz can poured into a teku
A- A hazy golden copper with a two finger white head.
S- Stone fruits, grassy, a little dank, citrus.
T- Citrus, some tropical fruits, some stone fruits, a little sweet, slightly grassy.
M- Smooth, medium body.
O- A good beer, easy to drink. I am not a fan of El Dorabo hops and the nose highlights what I don’t like about them, but they don’t dominate the taste in the same way.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy pale dark yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly settled down but consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and thick lacing on the bottom edges of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of pears and lime are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has stronger flavors of pears and lychee along with slight hints of pine in the finish. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is an intense hop bomb and the taste is packed with lots of flavors. With all of the juiciness, it seems like it could be an Imperial New England IPA if there was such a style.
