Modest and short lived head; the top of the body is more of a cola color.
Almost a restrained RIS on the nose, with vanilla, cola, coconut, prune, marshmallow, and brown sugar. The sharpness dulls a touch as it warms, and the brew grows sweeter as well.
On the palate, it's a sweet dessert stout, albeit less thick than a so-called pastry stout. The marshmallow and coconut combine to leave a strong impression of maple and chocolate, the latter in particular on the back third. Other tones include vanilla, marshmallow, coconut, cola, prune, espresso, nuts, and molasses.
Relatively thin for such a high ABV brew; while there is some back-end heat, it really does come across as sub-10%.
