Collaboration with Tired Hands Brewing Company
We teamed up with Tired Hands we set out to make an amber lager that we would give a good long time in the tank lagering. Enter covid shutdown. This beer got a long time in the tank. Over 8 weeks cold. Brewed with a base of Pilsner malt and whole array of dark malts including Munich, C-60, Amber and Aromatic. Fermented with southern German bottom fermenting yeast, at a slightly warmer temperature than our usual lager profile. Hopped in the kettle with Strisslespalt, do the knowledge.

Canned 6/30/20
Pours a med fizzy head with med retention, off-white color, clear copper tan color
Nose is fairly sweet with some caramel and copper sweet malt aromas, a little grainy, a bit fruity esters with some fruit punch notes, esters could be hops or yeast not sure, and a bit syrupy
Taste brings more of the grainy sweet copper malts, caramel and toffee, a touch nutty as well, grainy biscuity notes, hops kick in with med bitterness, herbal and earthy forest floor like hop flavors, a bit of fruity esters again I'm thinking yeast addition, fair sweet malt character and again almost syrupy, sticky sweet finish, lingering earthy spicy hop bitterness
Mouth is med bod, a little syrupy, higher foamy carb
Overall this was borderline altbier like, hops really took over and gave that altbier flavor and bitterness, not much of a biiere de garde style though, but enjoyable

A: The beer is slightly hazy light amber in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short light beige head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted malts are present in the nose along with hints of spicy hops.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of spicy hops are a little stronger and also contribute a light to moderate amount of carbonation.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and a bit dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the balance between the malts and hops in the taste of this beer.
