Pours a very dark chestnut mahogany brown color. Opaque and nearly black in the glass, with hints of ruby. A large foam head just as quickly dissipates.

Aromas of roasted and nutty malts evoke notes of dark toast and espresso beans, as well as baker’s chocolate and cocoa. I also detect slightly tart notes of cherry, raisins and vinous like alcohol aromas that evoke red grapes.

Bold and complex flavors, yet, the yeast provides a crispness and clean quality that is good for drinking. Vinous and slightly tart notes of red grape, raisin, cherry and currants stand out. Dark toasted, biscuity and creamy malts provide sweetness along with notes of brown sugar, caramel and dark chocolate. Roasty notes of coffee and a touch of earthy hops provide some bitterness. The finish is slightly roasty with notes of dark fruit and woodsy hops.

Medium to full bodied with a clean crispness that makes it feel lighter than it is, yet, it is also smooth and creamy. The carbonation is moderate.

Very easy to drink as it is not boozy in the slightest. The best of both worlds in terms of providing the rich fullness of a robust Porter as well as the crispness and clean qualities of dark lager.

L: Jet black color, no head or lacing, light carbonation.

S: Chocolate, coffee, alcohol.

T: Chocolate, coffee, liqueur, massive amounts of alcohol. Nice.

F: Full bodied, tons of flavor, very hard to drink.

O: This has got to be the strongest baltic porter I have ever tried. It's stronger than most Russian imperial stouts. Not for the faint of heart. A slooooooow sipper.
