I love Interboro.

Used to go here all the time, since I worked out of this part of Brooklyn and still do to a large extent.

When I found out that they were vacating their space in Williamsburg, I gave them one more visit and picked this up when I was out there late last year. Took a while to get around to this but thankfully, this was worth obtaining as it reminded me of how good their offerings were and how much I enjoyed my times at their old haunts on Grand St.

This had a moderately appealing look to it as the liquid was a muted goldenrod with a typical head topping it off. Very little wavy lacing was left behind once the foam settled, as this look of this was bit disappointing. Orange creamsicle, dewy grass, heavy cream, and weed were on the varied nose as the taste was just as sweet, turbid, and varied. A bit slick, plenty cloying, and more than filling, there was a lot going on here but somehow, this worked in the end like nearly all of Interboro's other offerings. The Pilsner Malt and presence of wheat was enough to round out the rougher edges of this while tying everything in at the same time with the end result being something that was seemingly familiar while being oddly different from the norm.

The hint of citrus juice and lactose helped to soften the edges of this as there were more than enough hops to give this plenty of variety on the palate. A bit of dankness on the back left me wanting more as the 6.5% ABV was on par with everything else going on here. No date was on the bottom of the can although this held up well over the course of this year.

Yeah, I miss Interboro but this was a decent collaboration to finish out on. While not their best offering, there was enough to like here as it reminded me of their landmark offerings while making me miss their presence in Brooklyn at the same time. This was a serviceable offering that was only had “LOCAL PROSPECT” written on the bottom of the can, as it worth being their last release...

This one is a collaboration with the Philadelphia based Two Locals Brewery. The pour to empty a pint can into a clear glass liter mug produced an overabundance of stark white foam. That mess receded unevenly and unattractively, leaving irregular glass lacing. There's very little aroma getting through the foam. What's there is somewhat hoppy, maybe both citrusy and earthy. The beer is dull and dark apricot-amber in color. Only a little light gets through it. Far from having a bold taste, some citrus-like references can be had. But, there's no astringent bitterness that accompanies some with that characteristic. It has a thin, but wet mouthfeel. Rather smooth as it is light, this goes down very easily. One dimensional and relatively mild for the style, this certainly isn't a standout. But, it is very drinkable and probably good to have at certain times.
